S38 purchase advise needed

First Ill say Im looking at buying this car for the engine for my 6. The rest of the car has been sort of stripped of some M5 parts but Ill have enough left to spread around to you guys

The stipulation is the engine needs 2 valves and cams. The PO took it up north, couldnt get good gas for it and burnt a couple valves. The guy that has it now is a good guy and the only mechanic Ill take my car to and wants me to have it for the quintessential swap for my e24. He says it runs albeit not peak since the work needs to be done. Also the trans was rebuilt around 8k ago.

Im not worried about getting hosed entirely as I can part the car and pay for the engine, also I have access to a very competent engine guy, I just need help on what to look for (something I wouldnt think to look for) like a leaky seal being indicative of something bad.

The majority of members of the M5Board are true lovers of the E34 M5 and would probably cringe at the thought of an E34 M5 being broken to provide an S38 engine for a hybrid , rather than to assist other E34 M5s to remain in use .

I may be wrong , but this may explain the lack of response .

Can't help with advice I'm afraid but I would like to ask if you have a decent pair of 9JX17 Msystem II alloys of the rear end>:haha2: and if so how much to the UK?

^^^ Understandable, It is going into a classic bmw though so not complete sacrilege. The car has also already begun being parted so I dont feel too bad.

As for the wheels Im not sure which they are yet ( I or II) when I find out I'll report back.

The guy Im getting it from mentioned this morning that the bottom end had also already been gone through about 10k ago..
