First Ill say Im looking at buying this car for the engine for my 6. The rest of the car has been sort of stripped of some M5 parts but Ill have enough left to spread around to you guys 
The stipulation is the engine needs 2 valves and cams. The PO took it up north, couldnt get good gas for it and burnt a couple valves. The guy that has it now is a good guy and the only mechanic Ill take my car to and wants me to have it for the quintessential swap for my e24. He says it runs albeit not peak since the work needs to be done. Also the trans was rebuilt around 8k ago.
Im not worried about getting hosed entirely as I can part the car and pay for the engine, also I have access to a very competent engine guy, I just need help on what to look for (something I wouldnt think to look for) like a leaky seal being indicative of something bad.
