Really like the results. My old steering wheel was worn slick and the best price I could find on a new stock wheel was $650 (retail over $800). I've got an early production (02/90) model so the later M3 and 540 sport wheels won't fit and I wanted to keep the airbag. The company that did the work did it in less than a week, added extra padding, new leather of course, and added the 'M' colored stitching. I added the later style airbag and have a nice little upgrade over stock. $360.

That looks fantastic!

The airbag - is that the same airbag/steering wheel surround/combo that was on the 1996 E36 M3s that we received here in the USA? The wheel itself had some thumb grips, but that is the same airbag and part number?

Same airbag. It will swap with the earlier ones.

I actually found the steering wheel compnay info on a Ford SVO Mustang forum. They really do good work.

Love the results! Would you mind sharing the vendor/shop you used? I never thought of having my steering wheel recovered...but after seeing your wheel......I think I have to have mine done!

Looks fantastic! If only there was a airbag version of the euro M-tech Evo II Steering Wheel...
