Rear seat width?

Does anyone have access to one of the E39 sales brochures so that you could give me the stated width of the rear seat area?

I'm trying to compare the E39 rear seat room with the new 5-series and new E90 3-series. Current E90 3-series sedan specs the rear seat width at 55.1 inches (E46 3-series was 54.2 inches).

google search should come up with something for the e39 dimensions. I have seen all the specs when I was looking for length to see if it would fit in garage (found out 7er wont, glad I looked before I purchased)
Dont have them off hand, sorry..

E39 M5 backseat width....



Well, 'just went down to garage and measured for you. From edge to edge, where seat meets backrest, it's 56" exactly. 'Hope that helps.

Thanks, Dan! That helps a lot.

What I really need to know is the distance in the center between the seat belt latches (where a kid would sit if there were booster seats in the outboard positions. Could you measure that for me?

Center section..



Back seat center measures 16 1/4" from edge to edge; and 11 1/2" between the 2 inboard seatbelt latches.
